Comfortable kitties!

I’m not sure if this really falls under “home decorating” or not, but let’s say it does. . .

Over the weekend, I finished a kitty bed/home for my kitties! I really had Ginger in mind, since she’s the one who likes to be hidden in things, but of course, she isn’t interested – but as these pictures show, Taffy is definitely on board with this!

Meanwhile, probably in an attempt to make sure I didn’t feel bad that she didn’t like the pet bed, Ginger decided the kitty bed I knitted for my Halloween was the comfiest spot to hang out. . .

So, I really can’t complain – and neither can my kitties!

Hello world!

Just over two years ago, one of my most longed for dreams came true: we bought a house! And so at last, we were able to move out of the tiny, somewhat-convered summer cottage we’d been living in for a decade, and to collect the rest of our furniture and belongings from the storage unit they’d been collecting dust in, and move into what is as near to our dream house as any normal person could hope to really aquire (seeing as how “a ballroom” isn’t really within the budget, LOL!)

Over the past two years, we’ve ever-so-slowly been upgrading the occasional piece of furniture, hanging the occasional print, or finally discovering the perfect way to arrange things. The joy of owning vs. renting is – not only am I not throwing my money away any more – but I can paint things and change them to my heart’s content! Plus, having more than three square feet of counter space now, and an actual normal people-sized over, I’ve discovered a love for baking.

This is my new blog in which I will, no doubt, babble endlessly about all the decorating, improving, gardening, and baking, and such things going on in and around my house!
